The Key to Online Profits: SEO

SEO (or search Engine Optimization) consists of four main areas which include keyword research and selection, site building, on page optimization and last but not least, link building. You must remember, there is no magic formula that you can just draw up to get your page to rank #1 on any search engine. There's never a specific amount of keywords to use or the perfect place to put them to make you rank higher than your competition. SEO is about developing a game-plan to bring qualified leads and traffic to your site. In this article, we will focus on how you should structure your site to help get your page the best rank possible.

The way you structure the pages of your site, along with the way you code your pages can have a great impact on your efforts. Before any of your web pages can even be found, they must be indexed by search engines. Your first priority should always be your customers or visitors, but you must also keep in the back of your mind that when first developing a site you must make sure that search engines can spider your site and index all of your pages. To help search engines in this process, it is always good to have a sitemap. A sitemap is just a page that links to all of the other pages of your site, allowing search engines to index and find your page more recently.

The main reason pages are often not found is JavaScript menus. JavaScript menus can be a great thing for site visitors, and you should also include some other form of navigation to help out the search spiders. Again, a sitemap is perfect for this process. You should also include some sort of navigation at the bottom of the page, which should contain text only links. Always make sure all of your pages of your site are linked from the home page by a text link. SEO is a huge broadened horizon, with many different aspects to cover before you can actually get a good grasp of it. But if you wish to make money online, you must work hard in the beginning on your SEO plans in order to assure yourself guaranteed traffic in the long run.
